Great post Myrix, I agree wholeheartedly. I have been excited about this company since 2006, (and I'm in no danger of losing steam, I can assure you Ryan ;)) and I have the utmost confidence in this team. Normally, I would be ultra-skeptical about a project like this, but there is just so much potential in this team, that I am already sold, for better or worse. I'm actually looking forward to the years of newsgrubbing and wild speculation!

I'm happy to see that you're so excited. Try not to lose too much steam by focusing on it before we start releasing information. Even information isn't something you should get too excited about ,though we'll try to only give information about things that WILL be in the game, and those things will be high quality.

The proof is when you get your hands on the game for the first time (and the hundredth). I love seeing that people have faith and confidence in us, because it challenges us to fulfill those high expectations. I'll do my best to make you a kickass game, and so will everyone else at 38.

I think that it totally sucks to see new people coming into the game, paying these damnable spammers to power level them in a week 80 then having access to all the zones that all of us worked our ass off during the last 9 years of EQ history to obtain.

Now for being dedicated and working so hard to obtain the level, keys, flags, aa and status, the entire game is ruined, it is handed to everyone for free. And not just PoP but all the way to PoR! Opening zones that some who have played for the entire 9 years haven't obtained yet but wish to QUEST to progress and obtain the way the game was designed.

I don't know that titles are the answer but it is at least a start. Although perhaps it should go in steps. Single titles for single keys and flags then a master title for all in an expansion. For example say you were time flagged the 'old fashioned' way, granting a title to the effect of 'Conquerer of Power' (ok maybe I lack a little imagination here but you get my point).

The problem with titles is... you can only wear one. So someone that has worked their way through the expansions and progressed as the game was designed cannot display all of their progress that they obtained through hard work, dedication, pride and many hours of their life that has now proven to be a total waste!!

What about quests like B.I.C. for example that has taken many people literally years to obtain. Now anyone can do it! These items that have been worn with pride now get the addition of 'but I obtained it back when you had to earn your way through the game' and frankly that takes it all away!

I am one of these people, one that has played since the beginning NONSTOP! One that has earned their way through the game, worked many long days, slept few hours a night several times and really pushed to get where I am in the game today and not at 'the top' anymore because things have changed and as a wife and mother I am not going to play like that anymore, I cannot play like that any more. I do still play for several hours a day and I enjoy it, but most of all I am very proud of where I have been, where I have come to, what I have seen, what I have progressed through, and I looked (yes past tense) forward to advancing through the rest, at a slower rate than in the beginning years, with my family and friends (guild). Now... I wonder how long my husband and I will be able to find the spark to keep going with everyone else getting what we worked so hard for just handed to them for leveling up.

At what point did Everquest stop being Everquest and start being a game that caters to people that don't want to quest?
